Women Voters Comprise 52% of Electorate

AMMAN — Former minister Asma Khader, a consultant with the Tadamon women’s institute, stated during a panel hosted by the Democratic Development Society and the Jordan Cultural Forum Saturday evening in Salt, that 52 per cent of the voting electorate are comprised of women, leading them to be a vital component in the electoral process.

During the activity, Khader reviewed the importance of empowering women in the polls, as well as in the endeavour of enlightening them with the knowledge required to contribute their fullest potential in the process. Additionally, she elaborated on the new legislation in regards to the women’s quota and other legislative issues in the new elections law.
