AMMAN —Al Ghad— The Minister of Energy and Mineral resources, Dr Ibrahim Said, stated to the Jordan news agency “Petra” Tuesday, that three committees had reviewed and filtered 82 submissions for the “green Corridor” tender, including 7 global companies that had applied for the project to build energy capacities from renewable sources at a cost nearing USD160 million, intended to increase clean energy contribution in the total energy mix up to 10 per cent by 2020.

On the another note, the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) has readied the final draft for the new renewable energy operation and employment regulation, currently under final review, according to an informed source, who confirms the new regulation will be finalised and approved within days’ time, now that the instructions have been discussed and debated prior to official publication.
