KFAS Grant USD20m to Support Jordan Education Sector

AMMAN — Premier Hani Mulqi and Deputy Prime Minister for Public Services and Minister of Education Dr Mohammad Thunaibat met with the Director General of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) Adnan Shihab-Eldin and delegation, Monday, to discuss Kuwaiti contribution to Syrian refugee education in Jordan.

During the meet, Dr Shihab-Eldin stated that the Kuwait Foundation will allocate USD20 million to the support of the education sector in Jordan, in order to aid in the alleviation of pressures resulting from the Kingdom’s hosting of Syrian refugees, and its weight on the education sector in particular.

The grant comes in alignment with Kuwaiti accords of the London Donors Conference, as well as in contribution to address the needs of nearly 145 thousand Syrian refugee children in Jordanian schools.
