ACC Exports Decline by 5% in 2016, Until July

AMMAN — Exports of the Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) declined by 5 per cent in the first 7 months of 2016, down to JOD2.299 billion, in the end of July, from last year’s JOD2.416 billion for the same period, due to the closure of traditional markets for national industries, according to ACC figures.

ACC exports to Arab African countries rose by 12 per cent standing at JOD180 million compared to JOD164 million in the same period of last year. According to the figures, exports to the European Union during the first 7 months of this year rose by 4 per cent reaching JOD330 million, and to the US by 2 per cent to JOD232 million.

Exports to Syrian sharply declined by 56 per cent standing at JOD16 million compared to JOD37 million in the same period of last year.
