Jordan Free of Animal Diseases: Minister

AMMAN — The Ministry of Agriculture confirmed that Jordan is free of animal diseases due to continuous immunization policy and strict measures on border crossings, the ministry spokesperson, Nimer Haddadin, stated to Jordan news agency “Petra”, and that Jordan is cooperating with international bodies to investigate all animal diseases and is considered one of the countries that with relatively high controls over trans boundary animal diseases.

The ministry's Veterinary Directorate offers five free vaccines in over 52 centres and veterinary clinics across the country, Haddadin said.

"Specialized veterinarians, on regular basis, conduct field trips to various governorates to make sure that no infectious diseases will emerge", he further added.

He said the ministry has a central veterinary lab, which is one of the most advanced laboratories in the region that performs the necessary tests to detect epidemic and infectious animal diseases.
