RIO DE JANEIRO — South Korea's Shooting Champ Jin Jong-oh shot his way back from the brink of elimination to win his third consecutive gold in the Olympic men's 50 meter pistol event on Wednesday. In Cycling, Swiss Fabian Cancellera outclassed his rivals to win the Olympic time trial gold for the second time on Wednesday, powering to victory after a masterful ride around the 54.5km circuit.

As for swimming, Michael Phelps won two gold medals on Tuesday, avenging his 200 meters butterfly defeat from the London Olympics and then anchoring the US 4x200 freestyle team to victory on a night of high drama and emotion in the pool.

So far, the United States of America has the lead in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games with 27 medals, 10 of which are Gold, followed by China, with 17 medals; 8 Golds, and Australia, with 9 medals won; 4 Golds.
