AMMAN — Prime Minister Hani Mulqi on Thursday received and reviewed with Member of Home Security Committee at the US Congress Cory Booker the latest developments and bilateral ties in various domains.

Mulqi thanked the US for the assistance and support it provides to Jordan, while voicing hope for more support to help the Kingdom face challenges.

The premier spoke about Jordan's stance on the latest regional developments, stressing that the Palestinian cause remains at the core of the conflict in the Middle East. Failure to reach a just and lasting solution the Palestinian cause would result in more violence and extremism, the prime minister said.

Mulqi also spoke about the burdens being borne by Jordan as a result of hosting large numbers of Syrian refugees, adding that due to shortage of support by the international community, Jordan is no longer capable of grappling with the repercussions of the Syrian refugees.

Meanwhile, the US Congressman said that his country praises the key role played by Jordan to boost the regional security and stability, while hailing the humanitarian role played by the Kingdom towards the Syrian refugees.
