Demand on Jordanian Dinar Strong, and Positive Insights for Eid

AMMAN —Al Ghad— Head of the Tellers association, Alaa Diraniyeh, confirmed to “Al Ghad” in an exclusive on Sunday, that demand on the Jordanian national currency (Dinar/JOD) is increasing with the influx of foreigners and tourists, in addition to increased exportations to Gulf states, and that the sector’s performance has improved over the summer of 2016, compared to 2015, with an interest rates for the JOD ranging between 2.5 and 4 per cent, as opposed to 0.25 to 0.5 per cent for the US Dollar (USD).

Accordingly, Diraniyeh reassured that the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ)’s policies, entailed the recent raise in national interests has vitalised demand, and that demand is expected to increase furthermore over the Adha Eid holiday, anticipated on September 12th, 2016.
