Expenditure on Travel Increases 7%

AMMAN —Al Ghad— Expenditure on travelling abroad by Jordanians over the 1st half of the year 2016 has increased by roughly 7 per cent, compared to last year’s figures for the same duration, up JOD28.9 million, from JOD413 million to JOD441.9 million, according to figures from the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ).

On a monthly basis, a 1.7 per cent increase on average is cited, at JOD74.4 million, compared to monthly averages in 2015.

Among increases outlined by the CBJ report, the numbers of Jordanians abroad increased nearly 6 per cent, from 1.22 million Jordanians overseas, to 1.295 million.
