RAMALLAH/GAZA — Israeli occupation ground security and naval forces early Thursday detained a Palestinian fisherman off the coast of Beit Lahiya after opening their heavy fire at his fishing boat, and arrested 13 Palestinians in different parts of the West Bank.

Pre-dawn raids in Silwad town, east of Ramallah, and Al-Amari refugee camp in central Nablus, led to the arrest of at least 6 youth, after forces attacked the citizens, broke into and ransacked a number of their houses.

Scattered confrontations erupted in Hebron between Palestinian young men and Israeli soldiers, who raided several neighbourhoods in Oroub refugee camp and Yatta town, and arrested two men.

According to Palestinian forces, Israeli war vessels surrounded a fishing boat that was carrying two Palestinian fishermen, and arrested the fisherman after damaging his boat.

The other fisherman managed to escape, the sources added.

Also early today, Israeli occupation forces pushed deep into Qabatia town, east of Jenin, and arrested a Palestinian.

Two other Palestinians were also arrested in Bethlehem after the Israeli soldiers searched and ransacked their houses.
