BAGHDAD — ISIS militants abducted 42 civilians as they tried to flee territory held by the terror group in northern Iraq, according to a local security source.

An officer with the Kirkuk police told Petra's correspondent in Baghdad that the terrorist gang had kidnapped the civilians from the Hawija district in southern Kirkuk.

The abductees were trying to exit from ISIS-controled territory to Tikrit, northwest of Baghdad, when they were seized, added the officer.
