Cabinet Endorses National Strategy for Human Resources Development

AMMAN — The cabinet, on Tuesday, discussed the 2016-2025 National Strategy for Human Resources Development, which was launched by their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah on Monday.

In a meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Hani al-Mulki, the cabinet officially endorsed this strategy and adopted it as a comprehensive reform plan for human resources.

The cabinet said the strategy was a national document for the development of human resources and education reform at all levels.

The cabinet also decided to form a higher ministerial committee to follow-up and implement the strategy, noting that executive institutions have ten years to implement it strictly and without any delay.

The committee will be headed by the Prime Minister and with the membership of Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs and Minister of Education, and the Ministers of Planning and International Cooperation, Higher Education and Scientific Research and Financial.

The cabinet also decided to set up a ten-year executive plan for the National Strategy for Human Resources Development and allocate the necessary financial resources to implement its components in the 2017 budget.
