WASHINGTON —Al Ghad— The International Monetary Fund (IMF) published a report on Friday, shedding light on intensifying crises in the MENA region, and their percussions on neighbouring states and countries, reaffirming the necessity to secure further aid and support for Jordan among other countries to help them cope with the weight of refuge, primarily Syrian refuge, prefacing the General UN Assembly to convene in New York on Monday, to discuss putting an end to the bloody 5-year conflict in Syria, and help millions of refugees and immigrants.

The report underscored the primacy of intensifying humanitarian aid and support for conflicted and host countries, including Jordan and Lebanon, and calls to reinforcing economic and social solidity in the region, with more 20 million people homeless, and 10 million in refuge, confirming the scale of this calamity is unprecedented since WWII.
