Licenced Non-Residential Areas Expand 19% in 7 Months

AMMAN —Al Ghad— The total area of land licenced for non-residential purposes has increased 1,278 square metres, by 19 per cent, over the first 7 months of the year 2016, according to the Department of Statistics’ report on construction and real-estate, compared to the same duration in 2015, totalling at 6,695 square metres.

The number of licences issued has reached 19,148 issues over the 7 months, compared to 19,107 issues over the same period in 2015, at an increase of 0.2 per cent.

According to the report, 46.1 per cent of licences issued for non-residential purposes was issued in the Amman governorate, followed by 19.1 and 10.4 per cent issued in each of Irbid and Zarqa, respectively.

As for distribution of newly licenced lands in terms of area, 65.4 per cent fall within the central province, with 26.4 and 8.2 per cent of land area licenced falling within the north and south provinces, respectively.
