AMMAN —Al Ghad— The government announced Saturday that the price per tonne of Subsidised Flour is to be decreased by JOD1.2, or 1.8 per cent, according to official spokesperson, Yanal Batmawi, from JOD66.15 to JOD64.94 per tonne, which will not be reflective on bread prices, but as a means to compensate bakeries for subsequent increase in costs due to the government’s decision to raise fuel prices.

Barmawi elaborated on this adjustment being normal in light of recent adjustments to oil prices, and part of the monthly revaluation bundle on vital commodities.
