GDP Grows 1.9% in Q2-2016

AMMAN — Jordan's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) expanded by 1.9 per cent during the second quarter of the current year, according to official data, which showed that most economic sectors delivered positive growth during that period.

The water and electricity sector grew by 12.5 per cent followed by agriculture (6.9 per cent); non-profit, family-targeted special services sector (4.2 per cent); social and personal services (3.9 per cent); the finance, insurance, real estate and business services sector (3.8 per cent) and the transport, storage and communications sector by 3.5 per cent, according to the figures by the Department of Statistics.
