Abbadi Presents Credentials to International Renewable Energy Agency

ABU DHABI — Jordan's ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Jumaa Abbadi presented his credentials to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) as the Kingdom's representative to the agency.

During a meeting with the IRENA Director General Adnan Amin, Abbadi stressed Jordan's support to the role and efforts of the agency to develop mechanisms related to sustainable renewable energy. He stressed Jordan's keenness to support efforts that aim at carrying out renewable projects at the local and international levels to support sustainable economic development.

Abbadi pointed to the agreement that was recently signed by the Jordan National Electric Power Company (NEPCO) with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) to implement Jordan's largest solar energy project.

IRENA director praised the important and effective role carried out by Jordan in the renewable energy domain.
