Jordan, Iraqi Kurdistan Sign MoU on Higher Education

AMMAN — The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and its Iraqi Kurdistan counterpart on Saturday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) setting out a general framework for cooperation and partnership.

A ministry statement said the MoU stressed the need for exchange of information and expertise in higher education and scientific research, as well as promoting cooperation between the two universities and institutions of higher education, holding seminars, conferences and lectures on topics of common interest, and exchanging visits of officials, experts, researchers and technicians.

The MoU also focuses on the exchange of information on academic quality, performance standards, evaluation of results, development of methodologies, students and alumni affairs and other aspects related to the authentication of certificates granted by higher education institutions in the two countries.

The MoU was signed by Secretary General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Hani Dmour, and Amanj Saeed, advisor of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, Yousif Goran, in a ceremony attended by higher education minister Adel Twaisi and Goran.
