USD1.46b: Total Aid, Loans to Jordan in 10 months

AMMAN —Al Ghad— The total amount of aid and loans provided and facilitated to Jordan during the past 10 months of the current year, 2016, amount in total to USD1.458 billion, according to the official figures published by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, Monday.

In detail, loans facilitated by the World Bank (WB) amount in total to USD249 million.

The USD1.209 billion total in grants and aid to Jordan include USD51 million by the WB, USD786.8 million were provided by the United States of America (USA), USD40 million by the Kuwaiti Arab Economic Development Fund, USD38.2 billion by Canada, USD25.7 million by Japan, USD0.9 million from France, in addition to USD53.7 million provided by Germany via various international development institutions, USD1.4 million by the UNDP, USD85.59 million by the UK, USD111.56 million by the European Union through different developmental agencies and banks, as well as USD10.7 million by China, USD2.29 million and USD1.2 million by Switzerland and Norway, respectively.
