AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh, on Wednesday, discussed with Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, preparations for the upcoming Arab summit, which will be held in the Kingdom.

The two officials also discussed bilateral cooperation, as well as, the latest developments in the Middle East.

Judeh expressed Jordan's support to the Arab League, voicing the Kingdom's desire to coordinate with the Arab League to serve issues facing the Arab world during the summit slated for March, 2017.

Aboul Gheit , who is currently visiting the Kingdom, said the stature which His Majesty King Abdullah II enjoys, and the conditions facing the region will lead to a wide participation by Arab leaders in the summit.

In a joint press conference, Judeh said, " there are issues and challenges that are of great importance to the Arab League's work, and we will be able to discuss them and develop the League's work."

The coordination will be enhanced with the Arab League General Secretariat in the coming days to agree on a specific date for the summit, Judeh said.

The discussions touched on a wide range of issues facing the region including Palestine, the Syrian refugee crisis and the fight against terrorism.

Aboul Gheit stressed the importance of Jordan's role under the leadership of His Majesty in promoting joint Arab action and supporting the Arab issues, voicing appreciations of the Kingdom's key role in supporting the Arab League.
