AMMAN — The European Union (EU) on Friday approved a decision to provide EURO200 million (USD222 million) loans to Jordan, according to a statement of the council of the EU.

The loans will be disbursed in two instalments, to support the Kingdom's economic stabilization and a substantive reform agenda. The loan will be available for two and a half years and have a maximum average maturity of 15 years, the council said.

The Council added that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) would be signed by Jordan and the EU Commission in this regard.
