AMMAN — Secretary General of the Jordan Investment Commission (JIC) Mukhallad Omari, discussed with Indian State Minister for External Affairs M.J. Akbar, economic and tourism features of Jordanian development zones.

Omari voiced the JIC's readiness to offer necessary facilities to Indian investors to establish projects in the Kingdom, noting that Indian investors have the opportunity to benefit from promising sectors in the Kingdom such as pharmaceuticals, IT, transport, mining, medical tourism, energy, industry and agriculture.

He said that trade exchange between Jordan and India amounts to $1.9 billion, noting that India in one of the important markets for Jordanian exports including phosphate and fertilizers.

The Indian minister said that the political and economic ties between the two countries that have been developing over the past years, will contribute to enhancing investments as well as trade and tourism relations between the two countries.
