PM Presents Public Policy Statement to House of Representatives

AMMAN — Prime Minister Hani Mulqi, in his Ministerial Public Policy Statement to seek the Vote of Confidence by the House of Representatives, Wednesday, said that the government has a comprehensive program to address internal and external challenges, enhance security and stability, and advance the democratic march towards aspired political reforms as well as economic development based on justice, integrity, and transparency.

In the policy statement, Mulqi explained that the programme is based on the higher national interests as a main factor defining all policies and decisions in cooperation and partnership with the Lower House of Parliament to achieve the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah II to serve citizens.

Following, Mulqi explained that the next stage is one of work and achievements, and is not devoted to putting in place more plans and strategies.

The prime minister said that the Royal discussion papers are of great value for Jordan, reflective of the mature and wise Hashemite leadership, noting that the government will take it as an outline to enhance comprehensive reforms.

The government, he said hopes that Jordan's hosting of the upcoming Arab summit, will contribute to activating joint Arab action, and on the Palestinian question, Mulqi said that Jordan is the closest to the Palestinians, their just cause and their suffering, and reassured that the Kingdom has always proved its support to the Palestine, insuring the continued devotion by Jordan to safeguarding the Islamic and Christian holy sites in the occupied city of Jerusalem.

On terrorism, the premier said that the government will continue efforts to enhance security and stability, and counter terrorism and extremisms in Iraq, Yemen, Libya and other countries. "The government will also work towards finding a political solution to the Syrian crisis as it is the only solution to this issue as His Majesty has always stressed.

Mulqi pledged to provide full support to the armed forces and security agencies, adding that the government is fully aware of the challenges that face them, and the efforts they exert to defend the country and its citizens.

The prime minister praised official and private media outlets, adding that the professionalism of our media and its bias to the national interests, made them a key element of strength for the country.
