LONDON — British Foreign Office minister, Tobias Ellwood, voiced deep concern over the land regulation bill in the Israeli Knesset to ‘legalise’ settlement outposts across the West Bank.

"We are deeply concerned by the land regulation bill in the Israeli Knesset to ‘legalise’ settlement outposts across the West Bank," he added.

Ellwood said that such outposts are currently illegal under both Israeli domestic law and international humanitarian law.

"Should this proposal go ahead, it would seriously undermine prospects for a two-state solution", the minister added.

He urged the Israeli government to reconsider the land regulation bill at the earliest opportunity.
