Massive Dip in Demands on Restaurants, Fast Foods, and Cafes

AMMAN —Al Ghad— A number of licenced touristic restaurants, cafes, and fast food outlets said to have seen a near 50 per cent drop in demand, July through November, 2016, compared to revenues over the same duration last year.

Some facility owners referred to the situation as “worrying”, due to the massive drop in sales, caused by the deteriorating economic condition, which has altered the predominant consumption among people.

Apparently, some establishment suffer a range of lost revenue between 35 to 50 per cent, according to interviews by “Al Ghad” Arabic.

 The Food, Beverages (F&B) and Hospitality sectors comprise close to 14 per cent of Jordan Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
