AMMAN — At least two people have been killed and 16 injured early Thursday, after an explosion rocked Turkish city of Adana.

The state-run Anadolu agency quoted provincial governor, Mahmut Demirtas, as saying that at least two people were killed and 16 others wounded in the blast, which occurred shortly after 8 a.m.

Demirtas said that all the wounded were transferred to a nearby hospital, suggesting it may have been a suicide attack carried out by a woman.

The reasons behind the blast is not known yet, but several cars in the parking lot have caught fire that video footage showed. The blast also caused damage to the government building, Anadolu Agency said.
