AMMAN —Al Ghad— The Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI), Adnan Abul Ragheb, accused the government on Friday during a press conference on joint public-private frameworks, of seeking to cantonise the industrial sectors in Jordan by marginalising the role of the Chamber.

The government has been holding meets and conferences without the presence of the Chamber of Industry, Abul Ragheb said, an outright violation of the agreed frameworks, he continued to explain, constituted by the signing of the declaration of the national private-public sectors dialogue, and the outcomes of the 2nd regional conference on the enablement of SMEs, a main economic catalyst in Jordan, comprising nearly 98 per cent of the economy.

Abul Ragheb is concerned that these practices are not exclusive to the current government, but has been more or less a trend throughout the governance of several consecutive Cabinets.
