AMMAN —Al Ghad— The Jordan Strategy Forum (JSF) published the 2017 Doing Business Report on Monday, ranking Jordan 9th regionally and 118th worldwide, out of the 190 countries, with a negative Distance to Frontier (DTF) rate, which measures variance from benchmark performance, at 57.3 per cent.

The compiled 2015-2017 official DTF scale shows Jordan dropping 23 places over the last 3 assessment reports; from 83rd place in 2017 to 106th in 2017, with a slight 0.09 per cent increase in 2016, from 84.75 to 84.84 per cent, only to dip by 0.22 per cent in 2017.

The JSF study covered 10 indices related to ease and accessibility of doing business in Jordan, and exposed that the analysis and DTF rates reported 2015 through 2016 lacked uniform and standardised measurements.

JSF analysis further provides a comparative review of Jordan with average scores and rankings of Arab economies, as well as the top five performing Arab economies.

The report also gives recommendations to improve Jordan's ranking and Distance-to Frontier score by recommending measures to improve efficiency, the report also shows what would have been Jordan's ranking and Distance-to Frontier score in the present report were these recommendations already implemented.

According to the study, the following table shows Jordan's rank and DTF score over the previous three years:
