AMMAN — State Minister for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani said that the government seeks to take decisions that serve the national interest as well as all Jordanians.

Momani added in the weekly program "News and Dialogue", that was broadcast by Jordan Television and Radio Jordan early on Thursday, that the recent decision taken by the government to extend the exemption given to apartments and single houses from registration fees, in addition to reducing fees on the ownership transfer of vehicles, is a step in that direction.

On the draft laws on the general budget and the budget of independent government agencies, Momani, who is also the government's spokesperson, said that the government was keen to present them to Parliament within their constitutional date to enable the Parliament to debate the two laws.

The minister stressed that the 2017 Budget seeks to increase growth rates through allocating JOD1.3 billion as investment expenditure, adding that the budget responds to economic challenges, mainly conditions in the region that reflected negatively on tourism, transport and exports.
