AMMAN —Al Ghad— The Ministry of Water and Irrigation is looking into the integrated bio-energy solutions project in cooperation with the German Government, to install bio- energy generators at the sewerage processing stations across Jordan, at a total cost of 2 million Euros, provided via the German Society for International Cooperation.

On the side lines of the Project’s workshop, launched at the Dead Sea, Tawfiq Habashneh, the secretary general of the Water Authority, stated to “Al Ghad” that the costs of sewerage transportation in some of the processing stations reach up to JOD300 thousand, which is why on the long run, as well as the grander scale, the integration project will prove very economical and feasible.

More so, the Ministry is saving up to JOD13,000 every month of the paid electric power bill through the Shallala purification station North of Jordan, with the capacity to boost saving capacities by 2019 upon completion.
