House Speaker Proposes Arab Development Union

AMMAN — The Council of Arab Economic Unity Secretary-General, Mohammad Rabie, welcomed initiative put forward by Lower House Speaker, Atef Tarawneh, to establish an Arab union for local development.

Receiving al-Rabi'e on Monday, Tarawneh said the goal behind the proposal was to lay down a normative model to deliver development to the Kingdom's governorates.

Both officials also tackled the issue of development in Arab countries which needs a methodology that avoids loopholes caused by the adoption of a selective technique.

They also stressed the need to sustain communication to implement this initiative.
