Arab Ministers of Education Conference Concludes: ‘Education Systems Obsolete’

DEAD SEA —Al Ghad— The official Arab educational/Education committee of Arab Ministers of Education in convention at the Dead Sea, Jordan, Sunday, during the 10th Ministerial Conference, concluded that [our] education, economic, social, and political institutions instrument obsolete mechanisms and frameworks in the formulation of strategies and plans.

The convention discussed an ‘Education’ papers titled The Education and Development in the Arab World, and resulted to the conclusion that standing education systems are short of advancement and are insufficient to support the demands and requirements of the modern world and the variables of a dynamic market.

The document, which was prepared by a Ministerial Committee in accordance to the recommendations of the 9th Ministers of Education Conference, emphasises that Arab education systems have not even edged on the knowledge the world has.

The convention also discussed the Public Education Development Report 1998-2014, prepared by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), also in implementation of the 9th Conference recommendations.
