AMMAN — Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, Prime Minister Hani Mulqi attended a ceremony on Monday to honour winners of the King Abdullah II Award for Creativity.

Winning the Arts Award was Jordanian author Jamal Naji , while the science award went to a three-member working group, comprising Auni Atoum, Fihmi Abul Rub and Hassan Abdullatif and Mais Salam.

The Arab City Award was shared by Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammad Bin Sultan Qasemi of the United Arab Emirates and a Jordanian working taskforce comprising Samer Khair, Qamar Nabulsi and Lara Hadid.

The award, which is divided into the categories of art, science and the Arab city, is given every two years to municipalities, organizations and individuals with projects resulting in substantial national and societal advancement.

Fourteen Arab states participated in the award’s eighth edition, represented by 83 competitors.
