RAMALLAH — A number of Palestinians were injured by occupation forces using live ammunition and rubber bullets against stone-throwing Palestinian youths during raids north of occupied Jerusalem, Palestinian sources confirmed, on Tuesday, in addition to 16 Palestinians arrested throughout the West Bank.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that Israeli forces also fired tear gas during the clashes that erupted during an army raid into the town of Ram north of Jerusalem.

It said in a statement that such plans are part of "the war declared on education in Jerusalem" that target the national Palestinian school curricula and the Palestinian identity in the occupied city.

The Palestinian ministry urged international organisations defending the right to education to unveil Israeli policies and help to curb these "grave violations".

Meanwhile, the Palestinian education ministry protested the Israeli education ministry's attempt to impose vacation leave schedules on Arab schools in East Jerusalem, saying such a move would affect holding the annual general secondary school exams in these schools.

On another note, the Palestinian Prisoner Society said in a statement that the occupation forces raided the cities of Hebron, Bethlehem, Nablus, Ramallah, Jenin and a number of neighbourhoods in occupied East Jerusalem and arrested 16 citizens in what has become an almost daily campaign against the Palestinians in the occupied territories.
