AMMAN —AlGhad— The House of Representatives voted to pass the government’s 2017 Budget Bill after a clause-by-clause vote by raise of hands in accordance to Act 112 of the Constitution, despite minor disagreement on the manner of voting.

Meanwhile, a number of MPs put in a Parliamentary Memo for a motion to revote on Section 116, titled “Other Taxes”, on the JOD450 million increase in public revenues. However, the remainder of the MPs rejected the motion.

The government’s Minister of Finance announced that the Cabinet will look into the MPs’ suggested alternative to collect a monthly JOD1.00 sum for every cellular subscription. On that the House agreed by a majority vote.
