Jordanian Child Poverty Rate at 19% in 2010

AMMAN —AlGhad— The last statistic by the Ministry of Education on child and student poverty across Jordan, in 2010, published in 2012, cited the percentage of impoverished children at 19 per cent, while the general poverty rate for the same year stood at 14.4 per cent.

Absentees among school students, children mainly, between the ages 5 to 15, according to the UN child department for the year 2014 and the Ministry of Education, has reached to over 76 thousand children, with the children in peril of not being able of going to school for the same age demographic at over 53 thousand.
