AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah II Sunday met, in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Rania, with the head and members of the higher ministerial committee to follow up on and implement the National Strategy for Human Resources Development 2016-2025.

During the meeting at the Husseiniyeh Palace, the King stressed the importance of speedy action to carry out the committee's recommendations to create opportunities and secure a better future for Jordanian men and women.

Stressing education as a top national priority, the King underlined, as key pillars to upgrade the education process, advanced curricula, a highly capable and professional teacher, up-to-date vocational and technical education and early education opportunities.

He told the committee, headed by Prime Minister Hani Mulqi, that his first preoccupation is to secure a better future to "our sons and daughters" through creating job opportunities and securing a decent life for them. He urged all executive bodies in the partner ministries and public entities to implement the strategy.

On vocational and technical training, King Abdullah directed the committee to lay out a clear vision, in cooperation with the private sector, "to ensure that institutional work achieves the kind of quantum leap that we desperately need in this domain".

The King was briefed about the progress of work in the first phase of the national strategy, and the level of achievement to meet the recommendations.

The National Human resources development strategy emanated from the recommendations of the National Committee for Human Resources Development, which the King directed the government to form in 2015 with the aim of devising an integrated system and comprehensive and well-defined national strategy to develop human resources and draw up the frameworks for sectors concerned with education.
