Prices of 14 Commodities Up 28.6% in 15 Days

AMMAN —AlGhad— A review of the general price median, conducted by the National Society for Consumer Protection (NSCP) shows that the median price range of 14 commodities has gone up by 28.6 per cent, over the last 15 days, compared to January.

Produce, including tomatoes and eggplants, have seen the most increase in prices, by 80 and 50 per cent, respectively, next to chicken eggs and poultry, up 25 and 13.3 per cent.

Out of 95 products included in the Society’s study, 5 commodities show a 32.6 per cent drop on the price range average for the same duration, as opposed to 76 consumer products showing little to no change in price, including rice, sugar, dairy, and tea, among other items.
