Jordan-Iraqi Oil-Gas Pipeline Project to Commence in 2 Weeks: Iraqi Sources Estimate

AMMAN —AlGhad— Iraqi sources estimated in a statement to AlGhad that the parallel Jordan-Iraqi Oil-Gas Pipeline project is expected to commence within two weeks, and that the Iraqi parties have submitted their tenders on their part, with works to begin in a few days, at an approximate cost of USD18 billion.

Iraqi Ambassador to Amman confirmed as well that the preparations to begin the pipeline project are in their final stages.

The pipeline from Basra to Aqaba will include two parallel lines transporting gas and oil to the port south of Jordan.
