AMMAN —AlGhad— A joint task force of Aqaba police and Criminal Investigations Department (CID) personnel arrested a group of criminals who robbed a house and its residents of nearly JOD20,000 at gun point, assaulting the owner’s wife in the process, according to a Public Security Department (PSD) communique today, Monday.

The police statement says the bandits were caught after the police were informed of the incident and reported on site.

The investigators were informed by the house owner and his wife, who medically treated by paramedics on site for injuries she had sustained in the robbery, that the criminals were anonymous and ‘Asian’ ethnics.

Investigations led the police to two of robbers in under 24 hours, who then admitted to having two more accomplices.

Investigation is still ongoing to restore the stolen possessions and money, of which JOD6,000 was found on the first two detainees.
