Profits of 23 Insurance Companies Up 34.2%

AMMAN —AlGhad— The profits of 23 insurance companies operating domestically have gone up 34.2 per cent in 2016, compared to the year before, totalling JOD24.39 million, according to a study by financial investment company, Sanabel al Khair,


Middle East Insurance came in first with JOD4.584 million in profits, up 107 per cent, followed by Arab Eagle Insurance and First Insurance, with JOD2.529 million and JOD2.137 million, respectively, up 4 and 62 per cent.


Meanwhile, three insurance companies in Jordan incurred losses for the year, they are Jordan Emirates Insurance, National Insurance (Watania), and the Arab Union International Insurance Company.


In 2015, the insurance sector made a total of JOD18.584 million.
