BAGHDAD — A Royal Jordanian (RJ) aircraft with 31 passengers on board veered off at the runway as it tried to land at the Sulaymaniyah International Airport in Iraqi Kurdistan, but there were no casualties or damage, according to an official Iraqi source.

The Iraqi Airways source told Petra's reporter in Baghdad that the E175 jet, en route from Amman to Iraqi Kurdistan in northern Iraq, deviated from its course upon landing at the airport. It said all 30 passengers were evacuated safely, and that no injuries or material damage were reported.

"The RJ plane's skidding did not result in any damage, and all the passengers were safe, and the situation at the airport is normal", said Sulaymaniyah Airport director, Taher Abdullah.
