AMMAN —AlGhad— Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) personnel, according to the Public Security Directorate (PSD)’s media office, foiled a recent attempt to smuggle more than 50 thousand narcotic pills in the Jordanian Southern Badia, after information came in on an attempt to deliver these pills to a neighbouring country.

The perpetrators got involved in a high stakes pursuit with the authorities and were intercepted and arrested in possession.

Meanwhile, another arrest was made on a Jordanian border crossing, wherein the perpetrator was also found in possession of a relatively smaller amount of pills.

The detainee in the second arrest was also headed to a neighbouring country, but was arrested at the crossing.

Detainees are currently under investigation, pending further legal processing.
