Fuel Prices Up 1.5-2%, Official Household Gas Price Fixed, Despite Market Rise

AMMAN —AlGhad— The government announced raising basic fuel derivative prices between 1.5 and 2 per cent, effective Monday, May 1st, whereas the official price of house gas cylinder remains fixed at JOD7, despite the market price increasing to JOD9 due to increased demand and a relative decrease in supply.

Price per litre of Octane-90 per litre will be raised to JOD0.665, and the price per litre Octane-95 will also go up to JOD0.880, per litre.

The price per litre of Diesel and Kerosene will be increased to JOD0.480.

Throughout the year 2016, the government has raised fuel prices 7 times and lowered them 4 times in total.
