AMMAN — The Japanese government will provide USD29 million this year to international organisations and non-governmental organisations operating in the Kingdom in order to offer humanitarian services to Syrian refugees, according to a statement by the Japanese Embassy in Amman.

The statement said that the aid will also be used to help communities hosting refugees and prevent terrorism and extremism, noting that the total Japanese aid to organisations operating in the Kingdom stood at USD59 million last year.
