GAZA — Israeli occupation forces early on Monday arrested six Palestinian fishermen off the shore northern the Gaza Strip, and wounded one in the process, who died afterwards, according to Palestinian sources.

In more details, Israeli war vessels, late Sunday, arrested three Palestinian fishermen off the coast of Beit Lahia and took them to an unknown destination.

The occupation forces also arrested three other fishermen off the Al Waha area north of Gaza, seized their boats and took them to an unknown place, the sources added.

Head of the Palestinian Fishermen's Union Nizar Ayyash said that the fishermen were in Palestinian waters, about 2 miles beyond the permitted fishing zone.

"Detaining the Gazan fishermen is a systematic violation and ongoing Israeli policy against Palestinian fishermen," he added.
