‘State Security’ Charges Group of 5 with Terrorism, Drug Counts

AMMAN —AlGhad— The Court of State Security’s Attorney General’s office charged a group of five, of terrorism, drug trafficking, and resisting arrest, among other charges.

The group of defendants includes one named fugitive, to be trialled in absentia, and another killed during previous confrontations with the police.

In addition to previous counts, the defendants are charged with the unlawful possession of automatic firearms with intent of unlawful use, murder by terrorism, possession of drugs and explosives, notwithstanding.

If found guilty, convicts may receive the death sentence, which is the maximum penalty extended by law.

Notably, all of the defendants are ex-convicts arrested almost one year ago.
