CCUPIED JERUSALEM —AlGhad— More than 300 Palestinian prisoners on food strike for the 41st day today, Saturday, have been hospitalised, some of them in deteriorated health conditions, Palestinian and international sources have confirmed.

The Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Committee said that the prisoners on strike have escalated their strike to press for recognition as Prisoners of War.

In the meantime, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in a press conference yesterday, Friday, stated that hundreds of prisoners are in “critical” medical conditions.

Domestically, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Club as well has confirmed to AlGhad that the Secretary General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Ahmad Saadat, along with two other prisoners, are indeed a critical medical state.

Meanwhile, confrontations have erupted throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip between Palestinians and occupation forces.

Clashes between Palestinians and the occupation have resulted in many shot and wounded, and hundreds suffocated by tear gas.
