AMMAN —AlGhad— Residents of the capital, Amman, on the first day of Ramadan, yesterday, disposed of more than 3,600 tonnes of waste, no less than 600 tonnes over the daily median of waste disposal.

The Municipality of Amman’s environmental affairs office said that this sudden increase is due to the dominant trends of consumerism, which only increases during the Holy Month.

Director of environmental office, Bassem Tarawneh, said that the city’s sanitation crews worked to their fullest capacities during the first day of Ramadan.
