Natural Gas Imports Up 12% in 5 Months

AMMAN —AlGhad— The quantities imported natural gas over the first five months of 12 per cent, compared to the first five months in 2016.

The Director of the National Electric Power Company, Eng Abdul Fattah Daradkeh, said that the Aqaba gas port has received 18 shipments of liquidated natural gas during the first five months of the year, compared to 16 shipment during the same duration last year.

The government has been relying on liquidated gas imports to produce over 80 per cent of the Kingdom’s energy needs, since 2015, as alternative to conventional fuel.
